Vinyl wrap - What do you think?

As much as I love my GT Silver car, I would love a brighter colour on it..... so I was thinking of getting it wrapped in vinyl for two reasons...
1) It will protect the paint
2) I can get it in the colour I really want!
So, with that in mind, what do you think?

I would wrap it, grey is safe but boring for a 911.
I would look at a deep metallic purple also.

I think the silver is lovely but I am going on a 2500 mile trip around Europe in Sept so I am thinking of getting the wrap for then to protect the paint
wraps are clearly not as popular as they use to be a couple of years ago - dont see so many of them anymore around in London.

Wouldnt worry about 2500miles trip and potential stonechips - dont stick into others bum and you'll avoid most of them, plus european roads are much nicer than the ones here.
note: worse comes to worse, a front bumper respray isnt that expensive anyways.

Sometimes cars get the odd mark or cut line when being wrapped, but they are likely to be hidden. Removing the vinyl should go ok, but there is always a risk if the underlying paint is not 100% sound.
If the car was basically needing a substantial amount of paint work currently, I'd look at wrapping as an alternative. No way I'd do it on a newer car that doesn't need it. Those plastic bumpers and the spoiler would be a concern for me.

I'd speak to Robbie at Valet Magic in Camberley. He’s done lots of wraps - it used to be mostly GT-Rs, but he’s now got a far broader customer base including many Porsche, McLarens and Ferraris. He did some paint correction and detailing work on my SLS shortly after I bought it and it is evident that his reputation is worth a great deal to him.
I’ve seen his wrapping work and it is excellent; last time I was there it was a McLaren 12C having a complex design applied. He recently wrapped a 997 and an R8 in a blue equivalent to Riviera and he has an extensive colour chart including a close approximation to the GT-R colour Midnight Purple for any metallic purple fans…

PW Pro in Mansfield seem to get a consistently positive rating...they did my GTR and the quality is ace....

I love the looks of the new wrap proposal but it always concerns me with them cutting stuff about with stanley blades etc. Any damage being hidden until the wrap comes off in a few years time.
Also concerns me that it might take some of the paint with it when it comes off. But then I might well be worrying about nothing.
