Bonnet hinge query
Discussion
I have a pinned bonnet so the rear struts and the link bar that runs beneath the dash is redundant so I want to remove it. Does anyone know how to get at the thing and how it is fitted and whether it can be taken out. It looks as though it was one of the first things put in when the car was built so access looks like a pita.
Here's mine in pieces.
The top section under the screen is riveted on to the car. One line under the screen at about 3" spacing and a few round the lower section all the way across the bulkhead. Once these are drilled out, the silicone sealant can be cut and the panel removed.
Your car will look something like this:

The removed panel will look something like this:

The bar can be removed by knocking the split pin out of one end and removing the lever arm and beating the bar our of the panel - it'll have rusted in the bushes, so won't be keen to part company...
