Specialized (Roval) wheels - steel spoke alloy nuts
Discussion
Specialized (Roval) steel spokes, but have alloy spoke nuts.
Over time the two metals react against each other and the alloy nuts oxidise (break).
Have replaced them one by one as they broke.
Specialized are selling me a replacement set (at reduced price), what can I do to maintain them so I do not get in same situation (or is there an inevitability, and after 2 years I should just replace nuts.
What can I do to help maintain these nuts.
Thanks
Kevin

The product you suggest looks like it is designed to prevent the problem occurring, and I thank you.
Once applied, is there reapplication that needs applying, at a later date, on a regular basis.
The problem (for me) is, the replacement wheels that I will receive from Specialized, will be 'ready built'.
Meaning to apply suggested product to the spokes/rim-nuts, the (new) wheel would need to be taken apart, and then re-built.
Specialized sell the mixed metal wheels - which will naturally oxidise. Is there any maintenance that I can/should do to prevent problem occurring, 'Without' needing to break up the new wheels to do so.
Or is it just a feature of these wheels that they need to be rebuilt on a regular basis, to ensure alloy nuts are healthy.
