Anyone Know Inveresk Village or Community?
Discussion
Its 2 minutes drive / 10 mins walk from Musselburgh town centre. Its no city but there are plenty of shops etc. Drive times to Edinburgh city centre would be about 20 mins on average. The houses in the gated village are nice but I bet its fun getting out of there in winter conditions. Close to East Lothian and The Borders for some great drives.
Drop MrTrophy a PM, he lived in the gated estate for a while.
Inveresk is all very lovely, really its the upmarket part of Musselburgh which is very small community, everyone knows who everyone else is type place. Even with the newer areas that have been built and the increase in "incomers" that brought.
Little in the way of good restaurants and bars but easy distance of The Shore/City Centre where there are a plenty. No shortage of bakers, bookies, take-aways and off licences!

Inveresk is a lovely place. Quite a lot of senior legal people live there. Very good rail link from Wallyford or Musselburgh to the city.
Down side is Mussleburgh. Only one good pub - The Stag and nowhere else. If you have children of school age then one of the best or possibly the best school in Scotland is there - Loretto. Not cheap though!.
