Fitting a new Woodruff Crank Key. Can this be done by just unscrewing the crank pulley on the serp engine? Or does the timing cover and the lower chain sprocket have to be unhitched. Thanks.

Both the timing cover (oil pump) & cam chain gear have to be removed, they sit on top of the key.

Thanks Spend, good dependable advice. Thought as much. Not a simple service check as has been suggested. Might as well put in a new TVR Power 998 or a Stealth cam and tapets at the same time.

Something just clicked in my 23.00 brain! Is it the crankshaft pulley bolt that is said to sometimes brake on the 5L, or is it the crankshaft key? The bolt is obviously the easy one to replace. Thanks again.
