Bumpers do not look like Rover to me. I suspect Wolseley but could be one of the big Morrises which shared similar bodywork I think. No doubt someone will recognise the car shortly.

I would suggest that is a pre war car but I am no expert. It could be an early post war hang over model but the Series E Morris was much more typical early post war with a far more modern feel and integrated metalwork all moving towards the monocoque which was looming large in car economics. I reckon late thirties or a post war recreation tiding the makers over.

I think the top edge of the grille on mine is bigger, more pronounced?

The grille looks better but the windscreen top edge is flat in mine and curved for the Daimler, maybe its the previous daimler fifteen model

Another vote for a Rover, from a friend of mine:

"I'd go with the Rover. say 1934 12 or 14 saloon.

Clues top mounted twin wipers, suicide doors front and rear,almost square cornered windscreen and low mounted horn and spot/fog/passlight and small chromed hub caps. There was a similar Lanchester of about 1933 but the body seems deeper on that from window line to running boards.

Cumbria Classic Coaches have a 1934 14 for hire . . . "

Judging by the look on your face, it must've been like pushing a pumpkin through a knothole!

Car certainly doesn't look like a Rover, and the pics posted above just underline that fact.

Looking at the wings I have changed my mind and I would go with the earlier Daimler Fifteen.
