Any Alfa specialists near Croydon ?

I've just put a deposit down on a 166 3.0L V6 - and am looking for a specialist to inspect it.

Does anyone one know of any good independents in Croydon / Banstead area who can inspect cars ?

(The people I use for my 164 are all in Beds or Bucks - too far away )

Thanks posty - I tried to call Gonellas - the number on the web is out of action - or they've closed down ??

I called a main Alfa dealer nearby - they said they would do it but didn't seem very interested to be honest - came across as if they were doing me a favour(!)

I wouldn't! Personal bad experience, same with Kinghams... finally found that North of the river was more reliable - did try Lombardi a long time ago, ended up going to Alfman in Northwest London - www.alfamanservices.co.uk

I trust SGT in Taplow, and also AlfaAid in Maidenhead have a great reputation but neither are near Croydon.

Why not try Austec Racing in Gatwick.

They are a TVR specialist but they also know a lot about Alfas. (I think they have some tie up with a local Alfa dealer)

They look after my Griffith, & were a great help when we bought the wife a 147.

I'd recommend the garage at Rusper if they are still going. Last time I was there in early '02 looked like they had the entire remaining population of 164s in for service!
