Hi Guys,

I wonder if you can help? I have started reading up about, and decided to embark on some chassis protection / restoration.

I've been under the car and done a bit of poking around, it looks like (as I think is par for the course) my white plastic-coat has chipped, and came off over the years from the outriggers along both sides.

I now have a surface-rusted metal chassis on either side, and across the parts joining the outriggers to the central "spine". No holes as far as I can see, just mildly dirty/rusted metal.

So, from my armchair research it sounds like POR15 is the daddy. I understand it's a 3-stage thing (clean, Prep, Paint) to do it properly, after some vigourous wire-brushing.

I assume this is the shopping list:
1x POR15 Marine Clean
1x POR15 Prep and Ready
1x POR15 Rust Preventive Paint
3x cheap paint brushes (to throw away)
3x paper overalls & gloves (to throw away)

So, before I being, I had three main questions:

1. Where is best to buy this stuff? I can only really find it at www.frost.co.uk?

2. How do I prep/paint the sections of the outrigger that are opposite the fiberglass body? (i.e. the top of the tubes)?

3. How much of this stuff do I need? How many coats?

Finally, Are there any other pointers / starters for 10 before I begin?
I think I might try and rope some mates in with offerings of beer. It doesn't sound much fun!

Thanks in advance!
