Unless everything goes awry, I'll be picking up an '03' plate VX220 NA in Europa Blue on Friday. I'll be going from a 300bhp Impreza WRX which was our family car for going on seven years, but its going on Wednesday and the cash is going towards a Mazda 3 for the wife ad family duties.

Its had a little work done, a camshaft change and remap, to go with a few exhaust mods. This all adds up to 161.5bhp, approximately 15bhp above the standard. It'll be weird going from a car that gives massive power gains for comparatively small outlays, to a car that has loads spent on it to get 15bhp extra (although that is a 10% increase)

I have had all the 'it'll always be a Vauxhall' and 'hairdressers car' business but you are welcome to add some more! Ironically the comments were made by a VW van driver and a bald person respectively.

I'll get pics up as soon as I possibly can, getting quite excited about this one now!

I'm bald and occasionally drive a van, but the VX is never a hairdressers car, its a proper drivers car, stick two fingers up the the uneducated small willy brigade and enjoy ......

And get some pics up ....

And sensible price ? i keep getting tempted by them ....

I think so. Uncrashed 03 plate with 43k on the clock, top condition,as well as a raft of mods (reversible), circa £7.5k.

Well, I have the car! Its a hoot to drive, Stourbridge to Marlow was a nice journey. It is all the things I expected, loud, hot, rattly, but sure-footed. Just point and squirt.

Totally different beast to the Impreza, you can sit in one gear with no concern of dropping off boost.

Pictures to come.

Well, I have a party to go to tonight so I have to put off the pics until the morning. Its a great car to drive, thats for sure!

I'm just not looking forward to the conversation at the party tonight, which I have been warned about by Elise owners

Partygoer:- 'What do you drive?'

Me:- 'Vauxha.....'

Partygoer:- <gone>

They're brilliant cars - I was tempted by one but went for an S2000 instead.

Blimey, it's you Radders! Finally found someone on here I know!

Shame to see the Scooby has gone, we've had many conversations about it in the past and you were always fond of it, but now you can have some real fun in the corners!

Best time for a hoon, when I had the Alfa I loved driving home from a night shift on a weekend, empty roads and the trip I took was full of the twisties, great stuff!

Looks lovely. If you are Stourbridge then I'm only 10 minutes away. Mine is a red Super Charged.

Next Sunday quite a few VXs driving from here to the Peak District if you're interested.

I actually bought it in Stourbridge, and drove it back to Marlow. Nice drive once I got off the M40!
