Only way I know is to hit the back button and then select shutdown .....sorry

My old on was like this
The new Garmin one you just hold the Nav button down and it closes

I suppose it depends how far you want to go. At the end of the day it is just as motor being powered, so you could make up your own controller, but then that would need a switch etc.

This to me would move the car away from original in a potentially negative way.
