Use wire cutters, soldier and heat shrink. Using your teeth and sellotape will take ages and probably go wrong thumbup

You really are going to have to try harder to prove you actually own a Chimaera before anyone on here will give you that kind of information John.

Calling it a Chimp won't endear you to those who own one either - but if you come over to the Griffith forum we'll certainly appreciate it biggrin

Why do you want to remove it anyway. Your insurance will certainly want a Thatcham rated alarm in the vehicle.

TVR were very clever in fitting their alarms, as they did it in house to cut costs. Apparently Thatcham alarms need to be fitted by an approved fitter so putting it in yourself won't help your insurance?

Im not sure why I have to prove I own a chimaera but there is a pic of it attached. I don't see how this is helpful when trying to sort out electronic niggles ?

We are naturally wary of giving out information on a public forum that could be useful to thieves. Also, the nature of a forum is that we don't know anything about you, especially since this was your very first post. Please don't be offended by our caution! smile

Even a picture proves nothing on its own, because it could have come from anywhere. A traditional way of proving ownership is using custard - if you can take a picture of that same car with a tin or carton of custard clearly visible inside it, perhaps balanced on the dashboard, then we'll be more inclined to believe that the car (and the custard) is yours. Doesn't have to be custard; any container of sweet pudding-related comestible will do. wink

That's his car as he is a friend of mine and he only brought it a couple of months ago so I don't think he needs the custard treatment.

Ok then, if you contact me through my profile I should be able to guide you through all components as I removed one a couple of weeks ago.

Why do you want to take it out John?

They are relatively basic but do a decent job and if your control unit is knackered you can get replacements.
The biggest PITA will be getting at all the links to the ignition, locking system, proximity sensor, siren etc.
