Thank you for your comments Mr Christie,that was me.In case you didn`t notice our `performance` drew a large crowd and we recieved a round of applause for it.I went and shook each band members hand afterwards and we had an impromptue performance from the band afterwards which the crowd stayed and watched,then a French lady came and shook my hand to thank me for the `concert`.C1RBY is a good friend of mine and has in fact owned his car over 15 years,I have owned my car for 8 years and don`t consider myself a Mcdonalds Boy-Racer.
I`m sorry that you didn`t appreciate our performance,many did,as for `dough-nutting` near other cars....a slight exaggeration there i`m afraid....wheelspin maybe and there were no other cars parked in the vicinity of our cars on the grass.

We're people not crowding around waiting for the moment when one of the engines finally gave up and grenadedd itself?
The event is supposed to be a gentle event hosted by the village to welcome us Brits to Le Mans, not really the place for drum and base music blasting out before revving the nuts off your cars on the grass. That's genuinely the sort of thing for Houx Annex roundabout later on. There's a time and place for everything and I was amazed none of the organisers asked you to quiet things down.
Also, the noise was one thing but which one of your group was sat on the grass thinking it was acceptable to pull your b
ks out from your shorts and show them to the passing families as you all rolled around like 12 year olds?

It will definitely be on the list of things to do next year if we decide to head to Le Mans in June (we might do the classic as a change next year)
The French are such a welcoming bunch. Great atmosphere. If I could have combined the quality of the pork baps (with extra chilli and gherkin) from the PH meet we headed to in the afternoon it would have been nigh on perfect.

In all fairness you both did act massively chavy (and I didn't see the donut). as already said you don't need the rule book you can tell the event is much more peaceful event than the rest of the weekend (brass band/ craft stalls/ French dressed in suits), think you would have fitted in more at Mulsanne. This is not meant to be an insult as I feel the event is too sedate so I have a look round and then go back to the circuit. Boatbuoy said:

I'm sure I was standing next to a certain red Viper when I heard it fire up and offer a few revs! 
We did a rev off on the TL Site with a couple of Vipers and TVRs and the LMPD cars, but I did not redline the car

I really enjoyed the Great British Welcome, arrived with my Team Polizei mates and noted how very welcoming everyone was, there were some great cars in attendance both British and French and the whole place had a lovely feel about it. It was for me a definite highlight of my first trip to Le Mans.

Have to say that the full burnout through the small tunnel leading up to the GBW site was a little over the top, considering it was a walkway as well. Perhaps a little more sedate next time!
The GBW was as good as ever, the third year now and definately a must see if you are in the area, The Vipers looked great as did the Proteus C and D (not sure the D was Proteus but looked lovely), some cracking cars (that bloody Blue Marcos i think was still there, Horrific thing
) but a good turnout and mix of old and new.

) but a good turnout and mix of old and new. I would agree that the behaviour was OTT,we understand the nature of the event (i attended last year in my mates F430) and the level of cars that attend is superb.
The event is sedate,when we `performed` it was late in the afternoon and the event was drawing to a close so we thought we would brighten the afternoon up and left shortly afterwards.Some people enjoyed it,others may have been offended but hey-ho,no-one contracted a life-threatning disease and nobody died,it was meant as a bit of fun.
All the guys in our party work extremely hard in stressfull jobs to own & maintain our cars,we are TVR enthusiasts and drive the cars as a way of escaping the rat-race and have fun in at the weekends,again some people appreciate it,others are offended.
Incidently....both cars did 1100 miles in total there and back without a single issue.
The event is sedate,when we `performed` it was late in the afternoon and the event was drawing to a close so we thought we would brighten the afternoon up and left shortly afterwards.Some people enjoyed it,others may have been offended but hey-ho,no-one contracted a life-threatning disease and nobody died,it was meant as a bit of fun.

That's the key, it's such a great event enjoyed by visiting enthusiasts as much as our French hosts and it would be tragic if it got spoilt in any way shape of form.
