14CUX error doesn´t dissapear, Help!!

hi

this is my first post but i've been Reading the fórum for some time, ok days

can someone please try to solve the following:

my car is a RR 3.9 efi 1991. no cat. running fuel map nº2.

using rovergauge (great free software!) i can read error 17.

ok, throttle pot faulty, bought a new one and the after 1 month i have the same error.

i thought it was strange and tested the 2 throttle pots and they are ok. smooth operation voltage wise.

today, using rovergauge i can see that throttle value starts at 11% and goes up to 96% max.

if the software can read this value a continuity test won't help either right?

allready disconnected the battery to clean the error, beasides the first start the car ran strange and couldn't idle (second time and after a accelerating a few times it became ok), the error came back on.

so what can be originating this error all the time?

Are the pins in the connector corroded ? the ones that connect the pot into the loom.
Possible that there is a dodgy wire connection where the loom enters the connector.

not that i can see but i can clean it with some spray and try again.

Since the RR is a 1991, I suspect that the Fault 17 threshold is about 76 mV. This was apparently a nuisance fault for Land Rover and they reduced the threshold in later versions of software to 38 mV. There is probably nothing wrong with your vehicle. You might want to try rotating the pot against the spring tension before tightening the screws. This may give you a slightly higher minimum reading.
