Swap 19 Lobster Wheels for Sport Design wheels?

Hi I am new memember here and have finally bought a 997(Yah!!)

The car came with the "Lobster Claw" or the Carrera S wheels. Altough I like wheels, my wife really wants the Sports Design ones. I am indifferent towards it and thought I'd come here and see if someone would be interested in swapping my wheels with the Sport design wheels. I hear the Lobster Claw ones are very sought after.

I think you have been told wrong.

The Sport Design wheels are much more desirable than the lobster claw.

The lobster claw wheels were standard fit meaning that they are much more commonly available.

Lobster claw are nicer IMHO. Sport Design wheels used to look great to my eye, but I think they have aged significantly.

Yep. Lobster claws with 5mm spacers were the ones to have on the 7.1.

A lot of you prefer the lobster wheels I see... I guess I am feeling a bit confused now, I don't know if the over time I would appreciate the Lobster ones more. The Sports Design looks really nice and turns my head every time I see them going by.

The lobsters are the Carrera S wheels. They are one of the signature features of the S and, presumably, what the car left the factory with.

If there is a "cool" wheel on the 997, that is the one.

Easier to keep clean than the Sport Design ones too!

I would say any wheel other than the Lobsters. I was dead set on the Sport Design wheels but so glad I ended up with the Carrera Classics as they are a cinch to clean, inside and out
The Carrera Sport wheels were a bit early for my budget, but do have the edge over the Classics in the 'aggression' stakes!

Having had 19" Sport Designs on a previous car I would agree with some of the comments. They were great at the time, but there are much better wheels around now.

As an aside, they're a sod to clean.

Hey - you want to change the alloys- this is the first I am hearing that you are "indifferent".
Personally I think the lobster claws look dated and old fashioned.
