As the last one went so well, I thought I'd see if anyone is up for another driver training day !?

I'll get them to price a day similar to last time at Millbrook and will maybe look at an option at an airfield somewhere.

The latter will be cheaper but I think all who went last time will agree we were looked after extremely well at Millbrook and drove as much as we physically could! There is also the variety thing at Millbrook with the different tracks and skid pads.

I'm thinking about a couple of months lead time and looking at around mid Jan. We aimed for 12 cars last time and a similar figure is best to go for again.

I am happy to organise again, so let me know anything and everything about what you'd like to do on such a day and i'll see what I can do !

Owen, January, eh - blow the cobwebs out (of the car and our Christmas-abused bodies!)!

Please keep me on the list, thanks!

Owen,
I'm up for it. But, can't do January cos we have client's 'coming out the woodwork' who want their Tax Returns in by 31.01.2005 to avoid the penalty. Quite literally a day off in Jan and several client's get a £100 (or more) fine.
February 1st or thereafter suits me sir.
(Ted where's the tax man smilie?)

Last time, we were charged £5,700 for 12 cars . We had exclusive use of the steering pad and almost exclusive use of the entire rest of the facility ! It worked out to £475 each. It sounds alot compared to a 'track days' but we could drive just about as much as we wanted and had 1-2-1 instruction all the time. I'm pretty sure all of us (apart from the unfortunate two with technical probs) thought it was very good money spent.

There's some details here: (1.5mb PDF)

Owen, what would be lost by adding a few more cars, thus reducing the cost a little?

The rules at Millbrook are strict on people. Everyone has to be accompanied by a qualified instructor. The more people, the more instructors and so the more the cost! BUT having said that, i'm sure we could work something round. If we get a lot of interest, it gives me some good bargaining power with the schools and tracks..... I was offered Silverstone GP for a day for about £25k!! we'll need a few of us to make that worthwhile !!!!!

Owen,
Have you tried Silverstone again. They may have a few extra days available!! Offer them £20k. You then need 40 entrants for a £500/head day.
Count me in.
Chris.

Alan,
The exact opposite to me...I made it but didn't pay! It's a shame I had to leave early and so just had to spectate. Another shame is that I didn't get to meet you before I left for walmer climes. Are you going to do LM this year? Maybe we could meet there.

Actually Martin was just talking to friend today about LM next year so it is most likely. How are the warmer climes treating you and how is it trating your machine.

Have been talking with them and they hope to have a revised schedule (based on last time's feedback) sorted. It won't be in Jan tho. I don't think i'll have a firm price/detail/offer 'till a couple of weeks after christmas.
