Landscape Photography - need some Wales locations

Morning,

I've got a free week at the end of July, start of August and have decided to use it getting some landscape photography practice. So far all I've really tried is Motorsports and Gigs, but I really want to capture some dramatic landscape and have decided that a week or so around Wales is my best bet.

Kit wise I have a tripod, battery grip for my 7D with built in timer function, a Sigma 10-20mm, Canon 17-85 and a 70-200 f4.

My first thoughts are to spend a couple of days around the Brecon Beacons, hopefully getting a clear night for an attempt at Milky Way shots. Then go to Pembrokeshire for coastline photos, then Elan Valley and then the Snowdonia area.

Will 5 days be enough? Are there specific places I should know about so that I don't kick myself for missing them?

Ideally I'm looking for dramatic hills, mountains, waterfalls, coastline with decent feature rocks, piers/jetty that disappear into the water, all the cliched stuff I guess.

I could also do with some recommendations for accomodation, particularly B&Bs as I want to do this week on a shoestring budget.

Climb Moel Y Gest if you are near Snowdonia - great for a panorama up there. You can, allegedly, see Ireland on a good day, but otherwise you have a lovely view of sea, beach and land. It's a lovely walk too, and it only takes an hour or so, so not too far to lug your gear - and if you're lucky you'll see a chough or two. When you're done you have Porthmadog and it's steam trains and the cob to photograph. Or you can stop at Borth Y Gest (lovely at any time) and if it's low tide you can, I believe, walk into Portmerion the back way (not tried it for years, mind you)

Any idea where the good coastal spots are that can be reached without a major hike?

For coast I think Barmouth has a lot of potential, took a trip there on the way back from Rally GB a couple of years back, the light wasn't on my side but there was potential.

If your goign to the Brecon Becons then I'd head to Tenby area some fantastic coast line along there manobeir(sp?) pendine saunderfoot etc (I'm going in September) aksi further up the coast theres Newgale (popular with surfers)and thers St Davids too well worth a visit
