Hi

Can anyone help. I've had a persistent annoying leak from the bottom hose of my Sunbeam. The problem is sealing onto the radiator, I've tried a new hose (makes it worse) and umpteen removing/refitting/tighting/worm drive hoseclips. Any tricks of the trade I'm missing? Would some plumbers tape or sealant help?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Are you sure it's actually the joint between the hose and the stub on the radiator? Might be running down from a failed core?

Hoses leak when:

a) They've gone hard/perish/split
b) The hose clip isn't tight enough, isn't round, is overtightened and distorting the pipe, or is too big and can't collapse down enough and clamp evenly.
c) The stub isn't clean, round, or is pitted/marked or damaged in some way.
d) You have a pressurisation problem and the 'weakest' link is suffering.

As above^^^
Can you get a second clip on it? Done that with a kenlowe temp sensor when one clip wouldn't do it.
Also use good quality clips, there's some cheap rubbish around.

This sounds like a good idea. I suspect the stub may be "out of round"
