I've just seen on another thread in here that Silverstone are looking to charge SIXTY QUID to park your car JUST ON THE SUNDAY for the F1!
Now F1 I've never been to (certainly won't now!) but checking the details for the MotoGP (which I DO go to) all it says is there WILL be a charge for parking although it doesn't mention how much.

ttiest email I have ever written telling them what a bunch of thieving bds they are and that I will never attend another event there, can someone confirm that is the price you will have to pay to leave your car in a soggy field only to have to queue for +2 hours at the end of the day just to get out of that soggy field, as opposed to some VIP-infield, hard-standing car park somewhere?

The prices are insane, Friday = £75 + £20 parking = £95. You can buy a Castle Combe Season Pass for that (I did) and attend 15 events during the year!
I'm sure I went to Friday practice for about £35-40 a couple of years ago, is there that big a difference between early bird and on-the-day prices?

To be fair even including parking the Friday is fantastic value for money £110 gets two people in and parked with a grandstand seat anywhere you fancy and a pretty much full day of entertainment.
Even alton towers can cost around the same.

The Silverstone Classic draws a massive crowd each year and parking is free.
Same field,same track, just no money going to BCE!
Get real, watch it on TV and go to another meeting and ENJOY!

As ukaskew pointed out, it gets more expensive the later you book.Leaving that aside, you're happy paying FORTY FIVE QUID just to park your car to attend an event you have already paid circa £150 a ticket for?!
It wouldn't be so bad if that money was being spent on improving the car parks themselves or, more importantly, some proper, planned traffic management. What are the chances of that eh?

(I've never paid to park at Silverstone and certainly never been to the F1 so assume this is new this year).
F1 event prices really are a joke. I think me and the missues spent in the region of £800 quid for a weekend at Silverstone a couple of years back. Yeah the race was good but in terms of what other (more exciting) motor racing you can attend, the price is not even remotely worth it in my opinion.
