I've had a shufty through the bible and there doesn't seem to be much info on how I might go about fixing a dodgy mirror 'joystick'. I wasn't too bothered by the fact it would move the mirrors down but not up when I bought the car, but my brother and I have just enough difference in height that now the mirrors are an issue.

Does anyone have the make and / or part number of the joystick?

Is it a major job to fix?

(sorry if joystick isn't the correct term)

GI,
If the centre console has been disturbed for any reason it could be that the wire(s) have come off the back of the joystick.. If both mirrors do not move, I would suspect this has happened.

The bible (Griffith) wiring diagram was exactly as it is on my '92 V8S (grammar?). A competent sparks should help you reconnect the right wire to the appropriate terminal on the reverse of the switch if more than one wire has fallen off.

If just one mirror wo'nt move I would suspect the little motor inside the mirror casing is u.s. or seized due to water ingress. In which case you may have to get a new mirror complete - or motor.

Good luck - as I struggled when I disturbed all of the wires when putting in a new cd player!

Ok, thanks for the tip. I'll leave it until the weekend.

I found the page in the bible, but don't really understand how to get the switch panel off to have a look behind.
