I decided to polish up my plenum and badge, and thought that this looked better than the original

I should be able to get some more done and perhaps with same other text, ie name, BHP figure etc
Here are some more pics of the clean up. I hope you like them , as I am proud of the finish smile.

I am sure I could sort that, I will have a word and see if I can just send you the lettering or not. If not then I will need your badge and I will polish it up and fit the lettering.
It will only cost you postage and whatever it is for the lettering as i am a bit weird and enjoy things like this, but I will let you lacquer it.

Hi Chris the Plenum took 4 hours to polish, including remove and refit, and a little time for the painting. The y piece took about 3 hours but its not perfect. The work is on going and I will hopefully do everything when the body comes off later in the year for chassis tlc.

Thankyou all for your comments and if I can help anyone in any way then please ask.

I have spoken to the printer and he said that the cost would be very low and you can have anything as long as it fits and in many colours, he also said that it would be possible for larger lettering or any design you want for rad covers or step plates etc. Please let me know if you would like anything and I will see what I can do.

Hi, I didn't do much in situ, but things are easily removed and refitted. I used a fine sanding disc and a D/A to rub the plenum and "Y" piece down smooth and then used a metal polishing kit that I got on the bay to polish everything. I removed the alternator and brackets and the dummy power steering pump assy to paint them, and everything has been done in blocks of time no longer than 4 hours as I have to get the car back together to get me home. It is a lot easier than people may think and you can't really damage anything doing it so its very much a DIY project.
My only advise is take your time. smile
