Thieving Scumbags

I've not had a good week this week. Last weekend I was looking forward to taking my 996 Targa to Sports and Classics in Knutsford for the obligatory exhaust mod. By Tuesday morning I'm spending a few hours in the company of the local CID who are looking for fingerprints in my conservatory. On monday night some thieving scumbags mentioned above broke into my house and stole my car keys. One Audi S3 (61 plate Black Edition) gone forever apparently. Heres the interesting bit for you guys though. the 911 and the S3 were next to each other on the driveway. The Audi keys and the Porsche keys were next to each other in the house but they only took the Audi and left the Porsche keys there.
Obviously I suppose I should be grateful that I at least have one car left to drive around in.... but strangely I was slightly hurt that the scumbags had shown such little interest in it! Plods view was that, contrary to popular opinion, something exotic like a 911 is less likely to get pinched than an average hot hatch as the thieves don't like the attention.

Same thing happened to me couple of yrs ago, I had my Black Edition A3 pinched and Her indoors Golf GTI in one night. Strangely enough I got the A3 back 2 weeks later, but we never saw the golf again
There was a recent Roadwars/Motorway Cops/Camera Action type programme where thay said that A3s were indeed the car of choice for scallywags up North.
My boss had an R32 which was stolen then taken on a crime spree around Essex, I wonder if the Scots & Welsh crims conform to type choosing Skoda & Seat....

Sorry if this is too soon OP, at least they left you and your family alone....cars can be replaced.

My deepest sympathy to the OP. When they took my V8 M3 it did hurt. Mind you, it was gone and recovered unharmed in less than 3hours.
Combination of Playmobil BMW key code system, tracker and pretty rapid police response (how they recovered it is another story alltogether - I strongly advise anybody getting their vehicle recovered nearby to politely decline finger print analysis and take back the car yourself).
All in I still think RHD cars are more difficult to recycle. On the continent they really do provide cars for pretty much anywhere in the western world... Our export market is smaller.

A friend of mine had his S3 stolen from the driveway too. Sadly he was awake when they broke into his house and threatened him with a gun.
He got a similar story from the police. Apparently S3's are desirable to these scumbags as they look fairly nondescript, are rapid and seat enough people to "do a job". His other cars were left alone.
