Owner is a member on here Shurely...

Spotted at Thurrock Services the other day, I'd 'spotted' it as a TVR with my ears as he pulled in, I could tell straight away and was expecting a Griff or Golf cart.

Said Hello, expressed my surprise at the '500' badge as I never knew they made the 5 litre Wedges. Chap told me the back story and gave me a little nose round. Brightened up my day no end.

Cheers thumbupears

Interesting to see the heater pipes go into the bulkhead on the nearside, as opposed to the off side as on mine..

is that a 350 / 390 bodyshell ?
No bonnet vents ...

That oil Filter & air filter is HUGE !! smile

... very nice biggrin

how did you fit all that in? I assume it would also fit in a 280 body? Very tempting if it did.

The 280's have a narrower chassis in the engine area - dont think V8's will fit i'm afraid frown

As per another thread here, the original 280 chassis is narrower at the rear of the engine bay - the top tubes are straight from front to back of bay. On the V8 chassis, those tubes have a bend at the rear, to allow for the wider V8. (and I think it was Wedg1e showed us that the very first 350's had a piece welded in each side ...)

The later 280 had the wider chassis as well I think - from photos I have seen anyway.

I have seen the photos of a 302 V8 fit in a 280, but from photos it's very hard to tell if it was a 'narrow chassis' wedge. I suspect not, but the 302 Windsor is a very small V8 (relatively).

marcus..if you have the time and money anything is possible but it is probably cheaper and a lot more fun to build a pulse engine and put that in..It will be fking scary but a whole load of fun...yikes.....driving
