Ok guys, right now I'm at the side of the road with no wipers & it's raining! Looks like the drivers side is worn & has locked with the passenger side. I turned them off immediately but now they don't work...this is not good. Has the fuse blown & if so which one is it? HELP.

Do you have tools? Can you remove the drivers side arm to avoid them crossing over again?

Will try to look up fuse position for you...

Yes probably the fuse, F10 counting from left to right across the top, 15A, swap with 14 which does radio, interior lights and power socket

Sorry meant passenger side remove...

Poss number 10 fuse 15amp. Looking along top left to right it's third from the end (assuming the diagrams I'm looking at is correct)

If that fails and a shop (or field!) is close...

If windscreen wipers stop working and you happen to have a potato handy!!!! cut the potato in half and rub the face up and down the windscreen in front of the driver. For a short time, this prevents the pattern of drops which is impossible to see through. Repeat the process if travelling further.

Good luck smile

Thanks people, I've found the fuse & swapped it with a 10amp that sat horizontally in the bottom of the fuseboard. Is this a spare? Rain stopped which is helpful but no tools on board. When I get to my destination, I'll see if I can remove the passenger side to get me home later....I knew I shouldn't have eaten that potato that's been rolling around the footwell for a couple of months!

Ok, passenger side removed & all is well...I'm liking a single wiper though! Mot failure I imagine.

Been using my potato to repair chips on my windscreen, but don't use king Edwards as they leave
tiny scratches, always go for new potatoes,I use those pre packed ones as you don't have to wash them
n can use them as soon as a chip appears.

Mine only had one and it went through the MOT fine. I was told I cant fail it if it isn't on it to test!

I might keep a packet of crisps in the car so I can just use one at a time for these things instead of wasting a whole potato on a very small job like rain deflection or chip repairs....maybe salt n vinegar?

One for the Noble wiki section...to be honest a baked potato with cheese and beans would clear the windscreen better than the standard wipers hehe

Would Cadbury's Smash work too Rob, compact and easier to store in the cabin pockets? ;-)
