My car hist and new toy today! :D (many pics)

Well for those that like to read these and just for my enjoyment I am going to do what many have done before and give you my car history to date, as many pic I could find but some are of the net.
First of all I started out at 17 in agricultural college so thought I should have something that was reliable, cheap to run and comfortable for the drive, about 55 miles each way, so what do I go for?

While this had much 'cred' in college I did need something that I wasn't going to trash off road so got something a bit more comfortable and surprisingly reliable given the treatment it had! (Internet pic but same as mine)
Then I fancied something that I could tinker with along with the land rover so found a awful Beetle that I made the biggest mistake of not looking at it underneath properly, I learnt a big lesson then, bought it for £2,500 sold it on for spares and repair for £650 over the space of about 4 months. I have no pictures of this as it is one I do not want to remember, just the lessons it taught me.
After this and the lessons learnt I still wanted a Beetle so found one local to me, went and looked at it with a proper mechanic and came home with this
The amount of cars started to mount up then so I decided that after a good few years the Clio had to go and was then replaced with something even more French. (Net pic)
After about a year and a half I wanted something with a bit of power and style, off I go to the classifieds on here actually and found one of these. Only a 2.5 ltr but at 21 I still had insurance to consider, still had enough power for a bit and most of my friends not being extremely car people all thought 2.5 woo what power!
I then fancied another 4x4 so this came on the scene
Then again something more comfortable but still a 4x4
The company car then came on the scene
Then my new one picked up today, not much driving time yet but still the first thing I noticed was the feeling of speed with very little doors is brilliant!
If you manage to look through all of this then well done!
Not much of a write up but I think they are all in there, and I don't think it's too bad for a 25 year old. I clean the cars that are should be clean, the company car doesn't some into that adn teh 4x4's got used properley so as sson as tehy were celan there was always a big puddle or Salsbury plain to have a play on.
Yes Tiger is the latest, Boxster had to be sold to help with a house deposit and the RR was just sold as it wasn't getting the use. So just down to the two now.

Thanks rotta, both the land rover and the beetle were the ones that got me into tinkering with engines. The green series 2a ahd a rover v8 and was always needing something fixing on it! So me and old man gave it a go.
The Beetle I was doing on my own, nothing major but exhausts, carbs and trying a little tuning etc so all good fun. Would love to try and learn how to weld and spray properley so I could do the chassis and body work but no space at the moment

The 1 series looks good too, I don't know why but I love a car with lots of mud up the sides

. Yep used to off road the Land rovers RTV comps with Somerset and Wilts Land Rover club, the BMW just gets used as it should living in the countryside 
and working on utility sites they tend to be off the beaten track so always a bit of fun trying your skill in a rear wheel drive car and slipery mud. Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
