apologies if this has been asked before but is the 90 just a detuned version, electronically or otherwise, of the 115 or is there more to it than that? Ive been offered a 90 for "reasonable" money which may do for spares but the engine is what im more interested in if it can be uprated with little fuss!

already got a 115, just been offered the 90, not as a replacement,more of a spare,

It's easiest to consider the 88bhp engine to be a different engine based on the 114bhp engine. There are quite a few differences, electronic, cams, pistons etc. There isn't much you'd consider to be a spare for a 114bhp engine.

And in reference to the thread title, no. The 88bhp engine was never offered in Japan in the Eunos Roadster. It was European market only.
