When you put poly on you need to turn down the damper rates because it will be too stiff otherwise. Does it have adjustable shocks? That might be all it needs. Also don't have the tyre pressures too high - 20/22 is fine for 205's.

Hi Dave

Have a little play and then stick it on the f-bay and PH.
On f-bay start at around £2 to £2,5K and see what happens.
When I saw it it looked OK so it should fetch the starting price no problem, but don't blind them with to much detail, make it plain if they want more detail they should contact you or better still come and see it!

Hope to see you at the fest, better still if its not sold by then bring it to the fest and put it in the cars for sale area!

Hi Dave - alternatively, start at 0.99 p (for 7 or 10 days and finishing in mid/late evening) and you will get lots of bids and £2k all day long (hopefully more). If you start at £2k then you may attract no bids at all or someone willing to pay £2k and you may be left wondering how much higher it could have gone for.....
all IMHO of course.

Good luck, Paul.

Low profile tyres tend to have very stiff sidewalls taking out some of the 'squish' offered by a higher profile tyre. Wedges were designed to run with the tyres available at the time - ie a higher aspect ratio. May just be that you're a bit over tyred on the rear??

Change the tyres round front to back and drive it, will be a quick and cheap experiment to see if you want 225's on there.

The tyres on all four wheels should be the same size and a reasonable make. Usually the thing that gives the most handling problems from my experience is the suspension set up. Do you have adjustable shock absorbers on your car? if so are they all set correctly? If not, are your shock absorbers in good condition? are the springs in good condition? has the car had a four wheel tracking and balancing carried out? Is the steering precise, with no play in the steering system? All of these things contribute to bad handling and should all be checked and corrected systematically.

ive driven lots of wedges including pistolars griff engined wedge with act carbon plenums and mark adams ecu(crazy car)that was the loudest at the wedge fest about 5 years ago and owned 4 and also rebuilt the suspention on many wedges ( not on this car )and ive not had a problem like this .when I got the car it had new shocks on the rear (standard not adjustable )all poly bushed new bolts calipers ect ect but when you drive it the back just moves a lot im going to take the wheels of and have a good look and check its all bolted up properly and check the drive shaft nuts are done up properly there was nothing on the mot out of place as they let me have a look under the car the while it was on the ramps its had a lot done to it including painting the chassis up to the bell housing on the gear box.the next job is to borrow a couple of wheels of superwedge (dave) as he only lives about 5 street from me and see what happens if I don't sort it today its going on the bay for spares or repairs
