Whatever week it is, we will be on the Hull-Zeebrugge ferry.
After a few years on the ferry we tried the tunnel this year... nowhere near as enjoyable as the ferry
Ditto. After a few years on the ferry we tried the tunnel this year... nowhere near as enjoyable as the ferry

The only way to travel! Spiffing brekkie followed by ~300 miles of top quality French "D" roads* in a windscreenless Westfield.

Not a single french
either. Bliss! Not to mention avoiding Blighty's appalling motorway network!
Paul
*The belgians can be forgiven their stinking, gritty Mways for providing Zeebrugge!
Rather than an overnight trek this year, we did the early 7am Cat from Portsmouth to Le Havre on the Thursday, back on the afternoon Cat from Cherbourg on the Monday.
The 4.30am departure from Bath gave us one of the high points of the trip, finally proving that the A36 is a great road providing no one else is on it!
Leaving Tertre Rouge and zapping cross country for a seafood lunch on the beach near Coutances before heading for Cherbourg was another.
The best bit was being back in the office first thing on Tuesday feeling almost human.
That's going to my route again next year, was perfect.

Poole to Cherbourg. 08:30am Wednesday. Get the camp set up in time for 1st practice at 4pm on Wednesday. Don't know what car I'll be taking yet, so will just stick reg number XX99XXX and change it closer to the date. If I win the lottery it will be in the private jet with the catering team sent ahead with the hospitality truck.
