Door handle LEDs - V8V

I've just noticed that the twin LEDs on the external door handles are working on the driver's side, but not the passenger's.

It's absurd: I've had the car for a couple of years now, but only recently unlocked it in the dark whilst facing the passenger side.

Daft question, but I'm guessing that they're supposed to light up on both sides?
If they are, has anyone tried to fix them? -Is it a big job?

I had the same thing happen to me, but I noticed mine after two weeks of owning my car. Both door handles do have the lights in them.
I had mine repaired under warranty. Apparently it's the door harness that may have become faulty as this also makes the door handle lights work. Well that's what was wrong with mine and they had to replace the whole harness.

The harness is quite small but unfortunately I was told by a dealer that this item can’t be purchased on its own, it only comes complete with the door opening mechanism, think the cost was about £125.
