Le Bounty lakes LeMans 2014 camping any good?

It's actually very nice, I stayed there a couple of years ago. Only problem is its a long way back to the main stadium once the roads are closed.

They do offer a minibus, however how far is it to walk if the roads are closed.

went this year for the 3rd time and it was very poor ! noisey over crowded lack off staff ! getting breakfast and dinner was a joke ! hope they sort issues out ! was very good shame !

yep been there since 2006 won't stay anywhere else, yes it was very busy this year and down by two staff. But even with waiting for breakfast once its still my place to stay! John and Steve run it well with great shuttle service to and from the track, you wont find a better place IMO.

Thanks I need to find out, last thing I need is camp nightmare with my son there.
It needs to be safe for us and our car and not OTT with chavs etc.

The TL Site is great, took my son this year and he loved it. Even had an F40 camping on site

Not knocking Le Bounty but its a bloody long way from the circuit. If you missed the minibus, taxi would be the only option, its too far to walk.

We had 2 problems this year. 1st was the weather. Months of very heavy rain including over the race weekend and for the 1st time I can ever recall no one socialised round their tents everyone was socialising in the restaurant\bar, under the covered terrace or in the marque, so noise was coming from one area of the venue which of course made it sound louder.

Meal are served over 2 hours +, all food is cooked fresh. So delays can be expected at peak times, we were serving over 120 meals in 2 hours......1 per minute. I saw no queues after the 1st hour of service (I don't consider 4\6 guys being served a queue) and by 90 minutes I would be sitting out under the terrace taking a quick break from the kitchen, (Bog Club can vouch for this).


Camping areas were restricted due to us not wanting guys to pitch tents it areas that were libel to flood. Steps are being made this winter to ensure this problem wont happen again.

The 2nd problem was 2 drivers that let us down on the day they were due to come over leaving us no time to find replacements. However we did find 1 replacement for the Sunday and I think everyone that used the mini buses on the Sunday could not fault the service.
We deeply regret the 2 or 3 groups that did suffer a delay in being picked up on Saturday evening from the pub they were waiting in and one of those was cause by the driver picking up the wrong group!
We have never left anyone at the track so very little chance of missing one of the buses. We keep a record of the numbers going out on the buses and the numbers returning.

I was freely available for anyone to speak to me if they were having a problem......not one person did! The fact that we are already half full and we have only just opened the bookings for next years event I think proves we are doing something right.

If you thought it was run well this year your glasses must have been them special rose colour ones! it was like foulty towers but not funny! cant blame the weather it rains every year !

Good point John! If you have a problem sort it there and then dont dwell on it!

I will be there again next year!

Actually its just 5kms due south of Mulsanne corner but the point is no-one misses minibuses. All campers have a contact phone number and we would never leave anybody stranded. My mind goes back to last year when I was driving through Mulsanne late at night (3am maybe?)…and happened by a group of Brits who were stuck in Mulsanne and were camping at a circuit campsite and had been told they’d get back no problem …err no, they were totally stuck. I let then jump on board and took them back to track … and they weren’t even my customers! That’s how e do things at Bounty!.

We have had many father and son campers for the very reason that the Chavs choose not to camp away from the circuit. We also have a fair few lady campers too as the facilities are of a better standard that the “pop-up” campsites of the circuit.

If you've given up on life and prefer to camp somewhere you can't even hear the cars and are a fan of park and ride systems then yep go to le bounty.

It's a great place to camp, eat breakfast and shower etc but it's not really Le Mans........ (forgot to say, we went there one year as it was the only tickets we could get)

If you're after quiet & safe Le Bounty is the place.

If you're after people driving around 8 up in a 7 series, wearing panda suits, BBQing and partying to the wee small hours, try one of the circuit camps!

If you're after quiet & safe Le Bounty is the place.

If you're after people driving around 8 up in a 7 series, wearing panda suits, BBQing and partying to the wee small hours, try one of the circuit camps!

I have done, I have camped three times on the one of the circuit camp sites at PC.
It was always fenced off site very good overall, however it was still like the 'LITTLE BIG HORN'
Some people just go OTT at LeMans.
