Does anyone have a picture of the wiring to the AC compressor. My Aircon has stopped working, garage probably knocked them while changing belt?

Light comes on and fans spin up just know kick in of the compressor.

Cheers

Wiring diagrams on www.nobleparts.co.uk in the build manual section.

Although if it's not kicking in it could be as simple as not enough charge (i.e. you have a leak and it's just got below the minimum pressure for the safety sensor to enable the clutch on the compressor).

Possible but it was only recharged in may during a service and was working fine.

I have the build manual so will check it out. Although wouldn't mind a pic of it in place.

Can I hi-jack your thread a bit Bondy?

My aircon is no longer cold and needs re-charging / gassing. Booked into my local garage on Sat who will do the MOT at the same time.

Any help i can give them as to where the inlet and outlet ports are that they will need access to in order to re-gas?

Is it an easy job and what should I be looking to pay?

Cheers

Any good air-con place will be able to pick up in/out let (front of car). Check for any leaks before re-charging. Use 950g charge; lubricant is PAG oil ISO 100.

I'm currently chasing an aircon leak. My aircon wasn't working when I purchased the car and apparently hasn't worked for some time.
Mobile guy traced a big leak to around the compressor.
Jetstream found that one of the pipes was quite lose, so refitted with new seal.
Mobile guy tried again today, but it's got another small leak which is going to require some chasing down, as he couldn't find with his gas detector.
He recommended a crew called AVACS in Alton, so I'm booked in on Friday. They know Nobles and sound very knowledgeable. Maybe the condenser behind the dash is at fault. Will let you know how I get on, and whether I will eventually get some cool air.

sometimes you can add a dye to the gas - that way you can see where the leak is coming from

I drove through Alton high street at the weekend. Shame you weren't there to spot me!

As Gadge said you can add a dye to the system that glows under UV light. Most leak detectors will pick up the leak, however you may need to increase the pressure before recharging to locate the leak. Unlikely to be the evaporator (behind dash) more likely to be a dry seal on one of the connections or maybe the condenser located in front of the radiator. Have you tried a good automotive air-con company or even a good local refrigeration company to see if they can help. Better to have a fridge guy look at a/c than a mechanic that doesn't understand the working of refrigerant sometimes. HTH

I'm hoping that AVACS can sort me out as they're solely aircon specialist.
http://www.avacs.co.uk/
Anyone know them? They've seen Nobles before.
The mobile guy said he also pushed dye into the system, but as he doesn't know Nobles, I guess he didn't know where to look for the leak.
Meant evaporator behind dash. Condenser in front of the rad may be at fault too - Jetstream also had to replace the rad with a shiny new ProAlloy one. Small leak seeping in a place too difficult to mend.
Lets hope AVACS can sort it on Friday.

They look like they know automotive a/c inside out, you should be fine.

Condenser often gets a pin hole leak in it. I've been through 2, one on the old M12, one on the M400. Any specalist should be able to find it fine.

There is a small wire that goes to the AC clutch. Have seen this wire get damaged with a belt breakage and with belt change. You can only see the wire from the bottom of the chassis. If the circuit is good to the pressure switch, then consider this wire, especially considering you said there was recent work with the belt.

Thanks, that's my thinking as also had work done in that area for the O2 sensor that's fitted on the down pipe. Getting it checked out next week.

Mine is being re-charged today, so in anticipation of them making it work perfectly, thanks for this info, I left these details with the garage.

Just a local garage in Fulham who handles my MOTs

Hope they are good with aircon.

One of my washer nozzles snapped off, which is an MOT failure so really hoping some superglue can get me through....

Shelby vehicle services on the kings road near putney bridge.

Really friendly, family run garage. They have re-welded my exhaust bracket twice (quick cash job) done MOTs and any other small help I need. Plus my aircon now works brilliantly thanks to them.

Look them up and tell them I recommended you, they know my Noble.
