Gents,
As new TVR owner I was surprised to see that my electronic control box was placed vertically in front of the battery box, including a few relais, and only kept in place by the footplate of the passenger. Is that normal, or is the electronic box supposed to be mounted somewhere, and if so, where?

Thats normal. On my 97 model the ecu slots down the left side of the battery. I am moving the battery to the boot soon and will shove the ECU up under the lower dash to keep it out if the way

My one is currently sitting next to my TV with the keys, quite an effective immobiliser hehe

One small disadvantage of the side of the battery location is that if the battery becomes faulty and as a result boils its acid over, you get acid all over your ECU.
Does anyone know if it is safe to keep the good old CUX in a thick plastic bag?

Thanks for the info, one more question, the infamous starting relais, steered by the immobilizer, is that one of the relais next to the ecu, or is it laying under the dashboard cover?

I can confirm that - had mine in the kitchen, checking the label on the Tornado chip, when a Cerb owning friend came round. I went to start the car to show him how it sounded decatted. It turned ver beautifully with my new battery, but woudn't fire. After cranking it three times.........I realised that the ECU was still on the kitchen table.

He laughed like the proverbial drain.....which is odd, because he's the electrician Daz, not the plumber Daz
