Wedge suspension.
Discussion
Hi peeps...I know this has been asked a million and one times and i was hoping i wouldnt need to go down this road but earlier i did give it a little boot and the front end did feel very twitchy..Almost a front fishtail!..Now i know that the supercharged sierra had stiffer suspension fitted and was wondering if there is a good alternative to the original set up..I dont really want to make it too complicated but i think it does certainly need something else..Im also unsure as to the rear suspension until i have the superflex trailing arm mounts fitted..Although i will probably need a new front and rear set up..I dont want to turn delilah into a racing car but want her to be as safe as can be with the extra power delivery..Im not going to heavy foot it everywhere i go but its nice to blow the cobwebs off nown and again..Cheers..Ziga

Lots of places will make springs to spec, if you can find out what the original rates were/are, you can order 10 or 20 percent stiffer... and get adjustable (or stiffer) shocks to go with them....
and some posters here do wedge bits.... (hint, hint)
Stiffer springs may well be the way to go, but they need to be shorter to compensate, otherwise you'll end up with a huge gap between tyre and arch. And of course, changing spring length will have an effect on wheel camber, which as I'm sure you know, is not adjustable without much modification to the front end.and some posters here do wedge bits.... Hi Ziga,
Although my Tasmin is really an incorrectly registered 'S', I think the handling characteristics are broadly similar.
I've just ditched my old Koni's & tired springs for Gaz GP8 adjustables, and new springs, 450 front, 375 rear. Also fitted Supaflex poly bushes on upper & lower wishbones & a/roll bar.
The transformation in handling is incredible. Much more planted, firmer, more stable & predictable. That's just on the first run to settle everything before setting final tide heights, geometry & tracking.
Well worth the time, money & effort.
But as mentioned previously, first make sure you have a decent set of tyres, they make a huge difference, as do tyre pressures
PS. Have a look on the S Forum at our suspension Wiki, very informative.
HTH, Must go, got some more testing to do

Cheers for all the help chaps..I will be buying some new tyres as i have soft compound on the front and mid-hard on the rear..Ideally i would have soft all round for maximun grip...Until it rains...
..I was looking ar falken 205/60r14 ZE912..Not cheap but sound lika good all rounder..

I also noticed that there was a severe wheel wobble at speeds..Then realised that the wheel refurbers never balanced the wheels..
