MG ZT 260 V8 mk2
Discussion
Well after having a heap of a Mazda 3 MPS, I decided to get something a bit more wafty for my 50 mile commute each day. After driving a mates zt cdti, I wanted a ZT and found that I could insure and run a ZT260 for less than my Mazda, therfore(in man maths) it made sense to look into a V8 as a daily....
I had a look at a couple, including an estate but settled on this one, 1 owner from new, massive amount of paperwork/history and immaculate inside and out. It also was SE spec and has a sunroof which, imo, is quite useful in summer!
So here she is, number 881 out of 883;

The colour is BRG3, which gives it a lovely shine in the sun:

I saw this at the Chill Factore car park on Thursday. Had a little perve on it when I was leaving too. Magnificent!
Haha, what time were you there? I was inside at a work team building/throwing ourselves down the luge evening.I really am impressed with how the car covers ground and the comfort, its fast in a lazy cruiser way rather than a frantic bumpy way. Its quite the polar opposite of the metro and always makes me smile when I walk upto it and start it up. Managing to average 28mpg over the last few days driving upto the lakes and around the place, compared to 20mpg when I was learning rear wheel control!

What's the power/stats on these?
260bhp, clue's in the thread title.
0-60 in around 6.5 secs, top out north of 150 if I recall correctly.Enjoy the car, SlowBenCollins. Sure you'll love owning it until petrol becomes utterly ruinous.

Aah, I was just at the wetherspoons (castle in the sky) with a few friends. Was about from about 7 until 9. At first, I just thought it was a regular MG, until I saw what appeared to be the V8 badges on the side, so I checked the reg. on my car check, and saw it was a 260! Looked like a nice example! Would really like one at some point.BriC175 said:

You more than likely saw me as we appeared in weatherspoons around 9 for something to eat and drink.I figured whilst its affordable, may as well get one and enjoy it before I have too many additional expenditures.

What happened to the MPS during your time ?
I owned it from 28k and for 6 months, in that time it was in the garage for 5 weeks in total getting the following done:Replaced:
Gearbox
Diff
DMF
Clutch
Drive shafts
Hubs
Strut top mounts
Suspension all round
It was probably the worst car buying experience I have ever had, the garage, I later discovered, would forge paperwork and give out dodgy MOT certificates. He forged sombodys signature on a V5 and when confronted, got threatening and very offensive.
I got rid of the car, wasnt anything wrong with it but it reminded me of the experience which I had gone through.

My mps so far 4 weeks:
In mazda twice to sort the tracking
It is now as we speak in mazda to sort the self level sensors as the lights are stuck at max height.
Glad i aint paying/paid for any of it .

Very nice car, mines the same colour and it always surprises me how good the paint looks in the sun.
I've absolutely no idea at all how you've ever managed 28mpg though!
The engine in there is a 4.6 Ford V8 and is surprisingly economical on a run. I got more than 30mpg on a very long interstate cruise in a car with the same drivetrain. I've absolutely no idea at all how you've ever managed 28mpg though!
