Can you please give me some info regarding sat nav updates for a 2006 DB9 V as I may drive to Europe this year.
Thanks.

I wouldn't be using the factory sat nav to drive across my own city, let alone rely on it to venture across foreign lands.

There are no words in the English language to describe just how poor this system is and Aston Martin should be ashamed of themselves for putting it into their cars.

As posted above, use a TomTom or similar and save yourself a heap of stress and fuel by not taking bizarre 'scenic' routes.

Don't get the official 2012 Volvo discs as Germany and France are no longer on the same disc, which is a real pain in the as*se if you are travelling between the two countries. Apart from that I have found the Aston/Volvo satnav is very good after the 2010 update disc added full post code search and much better lane guidance.

Download a WAZE app into your mobile. Best sat nav system I have used and updated by the users constantly.

That looks a lot better! The Garmin shows a sharp right hand bend coming up and the road ahead is bendng sharply to the left smile

The garmin shows a slight bend to the left, and then a 90 right........ The view through the windscreen shows a slight bend to the left......... After which there was a 90 rightsmile.....

The view through the screen may look like a sharp bend but, it was nothing more than a gentle curve......

This is true.

But even then the cheapest 2013 TomTom pulls The AM/Volvo system's pants down.

OP - do a search on here. Disk references etc have all been noted before.

Poor factory fitted sat nav is not just restricted to AM thugh. My Mercs is appalling, and the Porsche lot have had a lot to say about their sat navs not having full post code search until very recently, and then the dealers were charging a lot for the upgrade even though the car still had wrappers on.

Best I've seen is my sons BMW but it is the professional upgrade.

Personally I've not had a problem with the AM system (hard drive version fitted) and its very easy for an after market manufacturer such as Tom Tom to update their models as technology improves compared to a factory fitted item.

I used the satnav in the new car yesterday to get to Hever. Apart from me taking a wrong turn (and Mrs Wollie and the Woollettes getting there a few minutes before me!) it was excellent in getting us there and the lane assist and general navigation around the menus is very good.

My daughter even commented on how nice the screen was. It is an excellent screen with great contrast and colours.

I'm guessing that's the Garmin?
I've found a new annoyance on mine - bongs to warn of speed cameras that start when you enter the speed limit area and continue until you go past it (even mobile ones) banghead

I suppose it could be worse Mikey,,,like parking sensors, increasing 'bongs' to continuous as you approach the camera. hehe

Have the updated 2012 discs in mine.
Going to Hever yesterday - from me its up to the A3 Cobham junction, head South one junction - M25 to Godstone. Its the bit after that I couldn't remember exactly.

Get to A3 roundabout - Sat Nav turn "turn left" - its right you 'tard!
Get to the M25 junction - Sat Nav -"take the 4th junction" - thats taking me back they way I have come - useless tosser.
Driving past the M25 Leatherhead junction "take the exit" - Just shut the fk up!
Driving past the Reigate junction "take the exit" - look I am going to hit you in a minute - you pile of crap!
Driving past the M23 junction "take the exit" - Aston Annie tries to smash the Sat Nav!
Godstone junction - "take the exit" - woohoo, finally got it right!
Drive past a really narrow country lane - "turn left"- fking fk useless pile of crap - there's a road sign that says Hever Castle straight on.
Drive past a farm track - "turn left" look you useless y pile of crap - shut the fk up!!!

Got there by following the road signs.

OP - buy a TomTom for Europe.
