check this site out for UK models. Not sure of its accuracy but i believe they get the info from the DVLA.
Hope it helps.
I've a 1982 280i fhc.

As TVR were not good at telling dvla what they made 'how many left' is not going to give the best result my car is registered on the V5 as a TVR but no model is shown so it will be in the TVR 'unknown' on how many left and that is for a car TVR kept by them at registration, so there's not much chance on the rest! check this site out for UK models. I know that both my Vixen and my Wedge were originaly typed as "two axle rigid body"
on the registration forms, which was really a truck type, so I suspect that muddies the waters also.
For a while kit cars registered as new (rather then rebuilt) got that classification too - not directly relevant but shows up the holes in the system at the time.
I see that "TVR missing" shows up at 1400 or so....which I assume means "unknown model"
and mine, for example won't show up as it's 'exported' to NZ....

It's probably not too far out. They made 2,700 wedges and about half are left, or so it's thought. 150 SEs and specials and 1,000 280i and 350i cars would leave 200 Tasmins.
2700, as many as that? I always thought it was a shade under 2500 (totting-up figures from Robson's book) including the SEACs, 400SEs and bigger variants.Be interesting to see what percentage of total Wedge ownership we have on PH... Andy Tank probably accounts for 5%

Hi Ian, you may be right. I was being a bit lazy and wanting easy maths. I took Andy's quote, rounded it up to the nearest 100, etc. Adds up nicely. So there may only be 900 280i and 350i cars.
Well, I wasn't 'picking you up', I just thought maybe you had access to better info than me
There must obviously be a percentage of the cars lying dormant in garages and barns, waiting for their owners to die and the families to unload them...

The funny thing is that with 13 years less driving the Chim owners also think that about half survive.
I suspect most of the missing ones were wrapped around lamp-posts and trees by young IT types who went straight from their Uni runabout that mum and dad bought, to their first pay packet, to the TVR dealers, to A&E
I know of 4 on the road here in Australia
My sx350 ( which is one of the 400se's originally)
There is a maroon 450se, Ozbruce's 350i s1 I think and a silver/grey 390se in WA.
There is also 4 wedges in a paddock in Queensland 3-350i's & 1-390se.
So 8 wedges out here I know of, there may be more.

It's a bit of a shame, I wish I could get 4 people here interested in getting them back on the road.....

Hi
TVR records off wedges built differ between Robsons book saying 2615 and Tiplers Book saying 2627, The differance being Robson says there were 35 450SE and 18 450SEAC were the other author say 37 450SE and 28 450 SEACs.
Strange the differances are both 450 engine cars.
I personely believe the fiquers are 2615.
But that's my biased opinion!

I too found 200 a bit low to believe at first glance, but then seeing the splitting into 'true' Tasmin versus 280i makes me think again, well perhaps that's about right...
That makes my Tas is a LOT rarer than I thought !!
I'm confused or niave. I thought all the "wedges" were Tasmins?
So whats my 1982 fhc 280i? A wedge or a Tasmin? (or a heap of xxxx lol)

Ah right, I stand erected... I lent my copy of Robson's book out a good few years ago and it never came back, I was going from memory that convinced me the total was around 2450-2500.TVR records off wedges built differ between Robsons book saying 2615 and Tiplers Book saying 2627, The differance being Robson says there were 35 450SE and 18 450SEAC were the other author say 37 450SE and 28 450 SEACs.
Either way, even if every TVR Wedge ever built has had 10 owners (and plenty of them haven't) that's still only the population of a small market town that have ever owned one
