Jag XJR 1999 mechanics

Hi all

I have taken my Jag to bits for recostuct.
The car now has gone into engine safe mode and I need to move it out of park.
Does anyone know how to overide my auto box of reset engine safe mode
Also has anyone any form of workshop manual that I can buy from them for my Jag XJR 1999

You should be able to move the J gate by turning the ignition to on , depressing the brake and then moving the gearbox as normal. You can over ride the J gate lock by removing the plastic spline plug and using a screwdriver or similar to disable the gearbox inhibitor. Worried that you have disassembled your car and only now want a manual ! JTIS is readily available on e-bay and downloadable from a number of Jaguar forums.
