'Affordable' meat/protein

Anyone familiar with or use online suppliers like MuscleFood.com or athleat.co.uk?
Prices look pretty competitive and the beef is grass fed although cheaper stuff is also available from them.

MuscleFood has a really good reputation (and a presence) on www.uk-muscle.co.uk. They also run some good offers.

I am going to order some chicken from them when my current supply runs out.

My gym owner uses Musclefood.com and rates it highly.

5kg of trimmed chicken breast from booker wholesale is £19.99. Far less water in the stuff, than what you get from the supermarket as well.

Yes they have a real good rep the only reason i dont use them id never be in to get the delivery.

I think the butcher felt under price pressure to compete and the quality is not what it was. Some may say competition is good, but so far all it's done is whittle away at the small local businesses.

Then tell him. Most of us don't go the butcher because of the price, we go for the fact that it's meat and nothing more

How does the meat from Costco compare to the butchers or MuscleFood?
I didn't think that the Kirkland range was pumped full of water and looked quite lean; or is that a misguided thought and lack of proper observation skills?

Another vote for MuscleFood, know guys who use them and are very happy.

I like my local butcher but I think on the whole muscle food is cheaper that what I pay.

Food for me costs about £100-120 per week.

The meat from Costco is very good IMO, steak is better than my butcher and any supermarket. Chicken, salmon, mince, pork, bacon and sausage all top notch.

Have had meat delivered (though not from musclefood) before and it was a box lined with styrofoam and filled with meat and cool packs. It seemed to work.
