Hi Peeps..well the new alloy rad has just turned up and it looks just like the original..Tim at ACT is a top bloke..I need to drill some fixing holes but at least that gives me an option to bring it forward slightly so that i can get a bigger fan on it or smaller twin fans if needed..Im going to try it with the old fan as it might be enough..Looks the dogs though..Something else to polish..rolleyes...hehe...Cheers...Ziga

Thanks chaps...Spent the last few hours fitting it..Didnt warm her up for too long as i was getting daggers from the health centre across the road...Will warm her up properly and check for leaks and temperature tomorrow..Dont like the grubby pipe that the garage put on..They also cut my blue silicone one in half..Why i dont know...Hopefully i wont need a new fan if the rad is more efficient..Cheers..Ziga

Hi Andy...I could cut a section out and use a joiner but the hose i had on there was part of a set that cost me 200 sobs..There was no need for them to cut it in half..If anything they could of used the grubby one that was from the sierra and left mine intact..Dont think i will be taking it back there again!...Cheers..Ziga

Thanks for the link ralph..I could do with one for my bonce!..Right delilah seems to be behaving now with the overheating and i have now discovered why!...(Sorry for the blurry pic)..

As you can see the outlet on the neck has had the pipe clip done up so tight that it has squeezed the opening shut!..This is definitely not my doing!..From now on delilah will only be worked on by me or reputable TVR mechanics..That way i will avoid gouges out of my chrome rocker covers..Scratches to my paintwork....Milky patches on my boot and bonnet..One corner of my dash had been pulled out so i think the fixing has now been broken!....Brand new pre-shaped silicone hoses being cut in half and the EPS pump housing getting broken...banghead

Suppose you've still got that blue silicone hose zig, put a joiner in it and re-use it.

It's difficult to find any trustworthy car mechanics, but they are out there. I finally ran out of garages I could trust to service my tedious diesel car a couple of years ago, so I'm now crawling underneath again after 30 years of paying other people to do it. You have to make sure that you have everything around you on the floor so that you don't have to get up too many times.

I should of really let Dan taylor do it..He is not the cheapest but he is methodical and takes care in what he is doing..He would not of damaged anything or let me have the car back until it was running right..I know its a case of "Would a..Could a..Should a"..But you lives and learns...Cheers...Ziga

Every time I see secondhand tools I rummage through for the 1/2" spanners - I can now leave them on the garage floor all around me while under the car ;^)

My experience on mechanics is simple, when you find a good un you stick with them and build a relationship on trust and respect and in the long run cost less and dosent p***s you off as much. the number of cars i have got back from garages with scratches and dirtier than when they went in is a joke. I am lucky i have a good mechanic and he is 5 mins down the road.
