Lancia Delta HF Turbo
Discussion
Delta people - is it me or is there something about the white HF Turbo offered for sale at a well known auctioneers that isn't quite right - metric wheels from the early carb fed HF, and as for the engine bay itself, surely that engine simply doesn't belong in a 1989 model year HF Turbo....?
Yes it looks a bit of a hybrid. The body and engine are Delta MK1 so its a carb fed HF Turbo not an 'ie', you can tell as it has the larger headlamps and squared off front, black air intakes on the bonnet. However it appears to have bumpers off an 'ie' and a rear spoiler off an Integrale 16V, not sure if that's not a later interior aswell. Carb cars were produced up to 1986, so this must have sat around a while before being registered. Definitely a story behind it and not a car for a collector.
Not sure what to make of it. As has been mentioned, has a carb engine and body with Integrale interior. The carb fed turbo dash has a small instrument cluster whereas this one has the facelifted cluster which can be seen.
I've only ever owned Italian cars and the HF Turbo ie I owned (H660 BGJ) was THE worst car I owned. The Strada Abarth I owned after was like an Audi compared to the Delta.

I thought the HF T would have had Tombinos? Looks more IE than Turbo. There may be some history behind it for a reputable auction house to offer it?
How can it be an IE with carb engine, squared off front and plastic bonnet intakes! The wheels are correct for a HF Turbo carb.Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
