A hectic first lap with Danny Winstanley.
Sagaris chasing Sagaris...with a Sagaris in 3rd!

Some excellent racing at Oulton Park last weekend in the Dunlop TVR Challenge.

Very nice but as someone once said "the only substitute for cubic inches is cubic money!"

WHilst its true the sag is certainly a lot faster, and indeed in a different category to most of the other cars, it certainly takes talent to drive it that quickly, as its going mighty fast !! you also need awareness of what the other traffic is doing.

Its a pity mike and Steve weren't running to give tim and danny a bit more or a fight, but hopefully steve will be out again, not sure about mike after his Brands Hatch Issues.

running in a less powerfull class you want the quicker cars past you and out of the way as quickly as possible, so they dont cause you any issues.

I got caught out at Silverstone I let 2 A cars through as i wanted to concentrate on dave, they then held me up, letting dave pull away a little, and then fought me when i went to go past doh... How you use cars from other classes and how you get through them / use them adds another dimension to the racing.

on the last lap of the 2nd race I saw Tim coming, and i thought your not lapping me, then i thought hang on if i ;et you through thats a lap i dont have to do so backed off a little :-)

Not necessarily true, our engine was les than the cost of a speed six or a rebuilt 4.7 AJP and the gearbox was the same cost as a t5.

I actually bought a 480 bhp LS1 engine 12 months ago for 1
£1500 and didn't use it so sold it on for the same price ?

Hi,

Does the green LS Sagaris have 650 bhp, what did the old S6 engine have 450bhp?, isn't it now lighter running bigger rubber and more devolped than the old car, I'm surprised its not that quicker than the old 4.5 S6 car,

Not knocking the great effort and Danny is brilliant just surprised that its no quicker with that extra 200bhp,

I suppose it shows what a great car the old 4.5 S6 Sagaris was.

Great video, maybe the fast guys should always start at the back of the grid smile

That's how it's done in Karting and why "racers" start early & are developed, not born..ex-v old Karter 8-))

Hi John

The car is quicker but isn't as developed as the old car was, we had a steering rack problem over the weekend we fixed it as well as we could at the track but it still had about 1 inch of play in the wheel either way you turned before the wheels moved.

It was removed from the car and sent off this morning,

The problem is when the car has so much more grunt it starts to show all the underling problems more, fitting bigger rubber front and rear increases the load on everything more than before hence the rack issue,

Tim and the team have been developing their car for quite a few years and have done a great job to iron out all the teething issues to make the car work properly now.

It would have great to just turn up and not have any issues but unfortunately that's not the case yet, once we have. Sorted it you will see how quick it is .

Good weekend still,,
