Tannoy hts201 or warfdale dx1?
Discussion
Guys have appox 500 to blow on some 5.1 surround sound speakers but would rather spend 400
The warfdale feel more substantial but the tannoy are floor standing and come with rear brackets and real wood
The av amp is a Sony str da 1200es room is quite big so the kef 1001 feel lost ( think its the speakers they were only cheap to get any detail have to turn volume right up)
Tannoy hts 201 £400

Or
Warfdale dx1 £379

Personally I'd either look at
http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packag...
Or
http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packag...
And add a pair of stands for the main front pair
Or
For floor standing mains

None whatsoever. Ideally you'd want at least the centre speaker to be as close a match as possible tonally, usually it's easiest to use a centre from the same range or at the very least the same manufacturer.
Some will say the surrounds should be from the same range but personally I find this part less critical, my preference is dipoles or bipoles for rears as effects are better IMO by being more diffuse which you get as opposed to more direct normal speakers.
The sub can be any of your choice.
Using your Missions could be a great of opportunity to pick up some 2nd hand bargains over time. You can happily run 2, 2.1 or even 4.0 with no centre, you just set your amp appropriately.

What do you mean by bi pole di pole?
Edit never mind googling now. I see. Yep get it. I have a cheap kef 1001 center and sub already.
