Hi guys ,
I'm after some suggestions please with regards to low carb meals as having a 6 months dirty bulk (rad eating anything and everything x2) I've decided the time has come to shift some of the developing gut .

After speaking to a friend he has suggested a keto diet which is basically 30gs of carbs per day , I know it'll be hard but I have seen the results first hand with my friend and to be honnest I'm looking forward to it !

I've introduced some swimming into my routine and aim to maintain this throughout the cut .

I have some rough ideas re the meals but the more the merrier , if anyone has any suggestions or advice please post below !

Thanks Rich

I'm pretty low carb but 30g is very low. Is this for a short period to get you into ketosis quickly?

FWIW it's pretty simple (and healthful IMO) to restrict starchy carbs unless you have a specific requirement for them, e.g. cardio training more than 30 minutes per session.

Best way I've found is simply to leave out carbs. Anything you would normally eat with a load of rice, potatoes, pasta or bread just eat anyway. Once you get over the unfamiliar aspect of eating bolognese without spaghetti, or a burger without a bun it's quite nice. You taste a lot more of the flavour and get a lot less rubbish.

I like the way there's a knife and fork in the pic. Like you would bother even using your hands? Face-dive in. Face-dive in.

No-one tried fish omelets yet?

Feck, I had a 4 egg omelet with a tesco mackerel in olive oil filler. Used the olive oil to cook it in. 40g protein, folates, 4g omega-3... My god it tasted gooood!

Now you're talking...

Chicken pizza (beat a chicken breast out to a thin layer, then top with tomato puree, cheese, peppers, onions etc.) can also be done with turkey or beef mince depending on fats required)

High quality sausage omlette (buy 95%+ meat sausages), fry alongside some onions till all well cooked, loads of eggs, seansoning etc, and finish off under grill to brown top.

Chargrilled pork escalopes basted in soy sauce. Nice with a load of chargrilled veg (onions, peppers, courgettes, muchrooms etc)

My top 3 biggrin

Scrambled egg and salmon is a good low calorie breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Alternatively, soup. No bread wink

+1 on the scrambled egg & salmon (with double cream)

Or if you are feeling really hardcore - chuck some anchovies in it

If you stick to green leafy veg, and salads, you can actually eat quite a lot before you'd hit a 30g limit.

To give you some idea, each of these, taken alone, would constitute 25-30g carbs or therabouts
500g boiled broccoli
700g raw red tomatoes
850g raw spinach
250g raw onions
500g red pepper
300g raw carrots
900g raw mushrooms

You can get lots of hidden carbs in cooking sauces and gravies however, which is something to look out for.

Lots of recipes here

There's also a handy food calculator for forum members under the My PLAN link.

Edited to add:I meant stick to green veg/salad with meat/fish/eggs by the way smile
