If I ever needed confirmation that my suspension needs sorting then it definitely occurred yesterday. I'm used to the back end squirming about when I boot it in second (and sometimes third), however, coming out of a roundabout onto an empty dual carriageway (apart from the XK-R in front of me) yesterday morning I did the foot to the floor thing in second, and the back didn't squirm at all. No wheelspin, tyres, suspension and road working in harmony. At the back end. Different story at the front end, virtually no steering for a few split seconds, front of the car pointing left then right then back again, all over the shop. I believe this could fall into the category of 'undriveable' although I must say that moments after the intial horror I did find myself grinning stupidly biggrin

Suspension is, without question, now at the very top of my 'to do' list...

What do you have on Beastie at the moment?
Remember what you read about a proper 4 wheel alignment?
Mat's your man. Though Fast Eddy in Norwich will either be able to deal with it, or tell you where to go to get it done.
Mat's proper set-up ransformed mine.....from "whatpossessedmetobuythiscar?" to "yeehaaaathat'swhyiboughtit"

Sounds very much like a front shock absorber has gone.

I blew a rear shock on mine last year and it was almost undriveable with the rear end bobbing up and down - that and it very nearly punted me off the road over a crest!

I had all springs, dampers and relevant bushes replaced with new factory items - the change to the handling was astonishing.

My osr one appears to have died, I can feel her bouncing her leg up and down like a doggy when you tickle its belly in the right spot. Makes a couple of uneven corners on my way home a challenge if I hit the wrong spot. driving

Anthony??? But I'm Chilli.... QBee is Anthony wink Oh, and Precat is Anthony. I'm definitely not Anthony. The French Au Pare (or is it Pair?? she certainly had a pair) used to call me Reshard smile No, not retard, Reshard. Sexy or what smile This has absolutely nothing to do with suspension... Or maybe it does scratchchin Anyway, think I'm going for the Nitrons, coz they're adjustable, which means you can feck about for days trying different settings. This in turn means you've got to keep going out to see if your meddling has a made a difference. This is probably a good thing, although going round the same roundabout flat out 30 times a day can be a tad tedious. Not to mention risky. But lets face it, Nitrons sound way cooler than 'billies'. Telling someone you've got 'billies' sounds like you've borrowed them. And that's not cool.

So, Nitrons it is. Oh, and new bushes all round. And, er, a full Geo. Could have bought a fecking Ferrari and spent less money. Oh well, It's not like you can take it with you....

.....and you have said, I know, but the set up is at least as important that the Nitrons themselves, so get youself and your new dampers over to a guy who knows how to set them up to your requirements, and who can do a proper geo set up. You won't regret it. Wish I had the money. My suspension money went on bloody outriggers......grrrrrr furious

I would call Nitron to discuss your needs ,they will build you a set with the correct valving and spring rates ...I should of gone slightly stiffer but at the time I was sick and tired of going for uprated stuff which did not work for me .

These are the cheap ones ,they sell even more expensive Nitrons with some type of bottle hanging off ,what ever hey do !

I`m no money backs ,just got pushed in to a corner in the end .. Would not touch Gaz again but would definitely have Bilies .

These one`s have three height settings .
