Heater fan wiring - help needed.

The heater fan on my 98 chim has stopped working and with the dash top off I have found and fixed the normal fault of burnt wiring on the speed controller but still no joy. The fuse is ok so now I am stuck. The only wiring diagram that I have is in the bible but that is for an earlier car with a 3 position switch and resistor pack. Does anyone have the equivalent diagram for the variable speed controller? I would like to just put 12v direct to the fan to see if that still runs to see if the problem is the fan itself or the speed controller.
