Hi guys. In our street there is a fleet of cats about 8 altogether including our own one and all of them with owners however recently noticed a little ginger kitten. I assumed it had a owner however all it does is hang around our house and pretty much at all times! It was until a few days ago where I saw the cat sleeping under cars after midnight so I assume it's a stray cat.

Today I came home and saw him ( I think it's a he) outside my house again and tried to lure him in with some cat treats. he stayed back but as soon as i closed the door he came forward and devoured nearly half the bag. About an hour later I saw him still outside, this time he came forward himself and I ended up giving him some of my cat's food and again he finished that pretty quick, seemed like he was pretty hungry tbh. He then started meowing and wanted to come in but was seemed too scared. kept on coming a step forward and and then stepping out and also loved it when I stroked his head.

Anyway right now it's raining and he's still outside my door! he's meowing like crazy but it's too scared to come in. tbh I don't want him to come in unless I'm 100% he doesn't have a owner. How do I go around finding out, is their a site or something I can report him, I've taken a few pics as well.

My Whitey is a 'stray'. I feed him, give him his jabs and so on. He just turned up one day and never left, (by turned up one day he snuck through the cat flap and plonked himself in front of the wood stove and went to sleep).

My notion is that if simply giving him some dry food, and treating him the same as my other cat means he stays, then so be it. He is free to leave at any point IF he has another 'slave'.

I was about to say, knock on doors of the houses surrounding yours.

Now you just need to make sure he doesn't get more food out of you!

I'm slightly annoyed tbh as the cat looked pretty slim, was really hungry and his fur was pretty dirty too.

Go ask the neighbour if they actually want him......If not, some ham and he'll come in a warm bed and he'll stay.

Yes, they do, and you're making all the right submissive moves. Welcome to your new owner.

I'm not sure that's the correct collective noun for domestic cats. It is for jaguars. hehe

It's very easy. Either take it in or take it to a cat rescue place.
