Wider wheels on the back, Audi RS2

I need a replacement set of wheels for my Audi RS2.

In standard form it has 17 inch 964 Cup 1's with a 7 inch width front and rear.

This is what I want to go back to.

The problem I am facing is that all 911's have wider wheels on the rear?

Would it cause a problem fitting wider wheels on the rear of an RS2??

This is what I thought.

The problem is finding a set of 4 due to most sets being wider at the rear....

Do you know what offset you need for the 7 inch cup 1s? On the 964 they are et55. If this is the right offset for your RS2, you could consider the mille miglia cup 1 relicas. These are 7.5 inch wide but have an et52 offset to compensate. You'll pick up the reps at about half the price of a full set of original cup 1s (£1000+ for good originals).

If you're patient you may be able to pick up single or pairs of wheels from ebay to make up your set.

I had an RS2 with 18" speedlines on it. Same as 964 3.6 turbo. Never looked at the width but I'm guessing 8's all round

Through e-bay I have found a guy in Ireland with 5 X Cup 1 wheels all the correct size (he was planning on fitting them to an RS2) and they are genuine Porsche.

3 have tyres and 2 are just the rims. They do not sound in bad condition.

He wants £600 delivered.

Think I will go with this option. I already have the correct size spare so could sell the one extra wheel to recoup some cash

Funny enough the wheels on the RS2 (Blue one) are identical to what was on the car.
I sent them to Lepsons for a full refurb only to be told they are replica wheels and badly buckled. I have only had the car a few weeks so the previous owner is to blame.

10" wide on the 3.6 turbos. Maybe 2 sets of fronts?

Remember that the holes in the centre of the wheels are different between Porsche and RS2 fitment.

The cup wheels were actually specially made for the Audi.
