Just bought State of Decay on the XBL Arcade, brilliant game so far, open world zombie game.

It's so addictive scavenging houses and clearing infestations, proper do whatever you want game and it sounds like they are planning a multiplayer version ( possible xbox one game ???)

Anyone else played it?

It's epic , can be a bit of a pain if you don't run around constantly doing missions and clear outs

The gameplay is amazing though

Played the demo, saw the videos before it came out.. Felt a little, samey? I guess, when playing. The whole 'spam the same button to kill zombies' kind of put me off.

Those with the full version - does it get a better and am I underestimating it?

Definitely gets better as you can set up bases, recruit more people and savenging houses is probably the best thing about the game and you eventually gather a massive arsenal of weapons.

Just completed the game, was shorter than i thought but i'm gonna play it again and do things differently with a different homebase.

I'm surprised there are not more people playing this.

I've been playing for 2 weeks solid now and love it. Far better than Dead Rising and Dead Island, the whole community thing really adds a new angle to the zombie genre.
Initally it can seem a little boring, but once you get to the church and start exploring it really steps up a level. I started off being quite aggressive, tending to wade into zombies with my trusty sledgehammer, but after being swamped one to many times I play a lot more tactically now.

While the game isn't amazing graphically, the game play is excellent and the developers are releasing regular updates to add features and content that the fans have requested (no online multiplayer though frown ).

It's the little things that really make it stand out:

  • Day/Night cycle
  • Limited resources on the map
  • Random resource placement
  • Random events involving NPC's, as well a simulator that runs when you haven't played in a while to show progression when not playing.
  • Perma-death for all characters
  • 99 different guns and 30-40 different melee weapons
  • Bases with upgrades like watchtowers and workshops
A great game for 1600 MP. The downside is that the map is a little small and there is quite a lot of micromanagement involved in keeping your community alive.

There's a 60 minute demo available, but too be honest it only really gets good as the demo ends.
