I'm the sort of person who likes tinkering with things like bike fit (cheaper than buying shiny things wink), and my bike when I bought it (second hand) had a stack of spacers beneath the stem. I've been progressively lowering it, and riding in the drops is fine - it's still a pretty relaxed fit for a road bike, with only a small saddle to bar drop. However, on the hoods my wrists are now bent downwards quite drastically and arms nearly straight - so wrists are uncomfortable. The flat part of the hoods are approximately level.

Am I right in thinking this is pointing towards my fit being a bit too long? Or are the hoods set wrongly? Or something else?

Cheers all.

Pic of setup would help. Side on pic of you on the bike on the hoods would also be helpful

Perhaps you could try moving the shifters further up the bar ?

Or maybe rotate the bars up a bit ?
