BMW Servicing Leeds???
Discussion
Firstly, I thought anyone can reset the light for free (no tools required) - instructions here:

Id recommend actually having the fluid changed as well though hehe...
As for getting a garage to actually do it, a few on here recommend B&M Care on stanningly bypass (I personally dont, but thats another issue). Also see Bankside garage and leeford motorco. It depends where you are.
There was a thread on BMW indi's on here (it was recently added to):
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
To be honest ANY garage can do this, its not a hard job and can even be a diy.
I guess you will want somewhere that will stamp your service book though too.

I've used Metcalf Autos in Sherburn for the last 10/12 years. Paul and Rich have a background of britcar racing (Metcalf Motorsport) which is why i take my E30 M3 to them.
They went bread and butter about 5 years ago but know Germans inside out - I wouldn't go anywhere else.
+1 for this..They went bread and butter about 5 years ago but know Germans inside out - I wouldn't go anywhere else.
If you really need a place with Autologic then it's worth taking the trip to Autohaus in York (Wigginton)
I use Impact Motorcare in Pool In Wharfedale. They looked after my 7 Series for 3.5 years and now look after my 1 series. Whilst they don't claim to be be BMW Specialists, they do have the diagnostic equipment and Richard and his team are very good engineers, honest and very reasonable. They were certainly much more knowledgeable than B&M care when it came to sorting an issue with my 7 Series. A PH'er and fellow 7 series owner recommended them to me.
Don't expect a customer seating area or coffee machine, just honest and pragmatic motor engineers rather that 'parts fitters' .

Just dropped the E39 in at Cramag, seemed like a nice bunch of blokes.
I'm in for fitting of news discs, pads and wear sensors (that I've provided) plus handbrake shoes and a fix on a top hose leak that they're dealing with and sourcing parts from BMW.
Will update with findings. I'm hoping for positive, always good to find a new indy nearby.

Not used them for service yet but they always have some nice cars for sale, the owner likes 840 Sports apparently ask to see the Yellow one they have in the workshop under a cover in the back..................I'm in for fitting of news discs, pads and wear sensors (that I've provided) plus handbrake shoes and a fix on a top hose leak that they're dealing with and sourcing parts from BMW.

Quick update on Cramag after using them for the first time:
Very nice bunch of guys who seem to know their stuff well.
Solved my weeping coolant problem without just changing parts until it was fixed, which is good to see.
The cost is, in my opinion, quite high but not at the silly end of the spectrum. I paid around £360 for 4 discs, pads and wear sensors fitted (that I supplied) plus a new OEM top hose, handbrake shoes, labour and VAT.
Will definitely be using them again for the big Service 2 which is looming but I'd hope to get that at a fixed price with me supplying my own fluids/filters etc.

An update to my last post regarding Cramag.
Well, not so happy now. The leak they were tasked to fix wasn't actually fixed. That in itself isn't the end of the world although you'd expect an expert to pick up on the problem (thermostat to top hose couplings perished, stat sensor slowly leaking).
The problem was just a couple of things but important to me. First the top hose they replaced wasn't fitted correctly and engine grease was rubbed inside it to get a seal. Grease eats rubber seals and gaskets for breakfast, this is just a bit of a schoolboy error but one you'd not expect BMW expert indy to make (or even an apprentice mech to make.)
Secondly, and god only knows why, they zip tied an electrical wire to the top hose, crushing its protective plastic sheath to buggery. God only knows what was going through someones mind when they did that.
Cost me time and money to put right today before a long drive to the Med at the weekend.
Not very happy at all.
