Borrowed my tyre pump, thanks for returning it to me broken!! The moment I took it out of the box and saw the pressure set to 240psi I sensed something was wrong, I'm now stuck on my drive with a deflated tyre and no means of pumping it up!
You know who you are, you and your idiot drunken fool in the C63, yes you in the Porsche who whilst pissed reversed in to the Audi.
Thanks a f
king bunch, you

And here's me thinking that private sites attract less morons and more decent folk.
Apparently I am very much mistaken.
To be honest Vince I couldn't praise the TL site enough, but unfortunately there were two idiots who were unfortunately there, apart from that I wouldn't stay anywhere else, it's a cracking campsite.Apparently I am very much mistaken.
It's taught me a lesson though, never be kind to strangers and lend them your tools. I wouldn't mind if it was a cheapie tyre pump but its not. If you're too stoopid to know how to use one then hang up your car keys and get the feckin bus!

They didnt have a good weekend did they and it was rather daft what went on in that group. The bill for that Audi is looking like a main dealer job at £2K according to the owner.
As far as TL goes though, I dont think we could have been at a better site. The shenanagens that went on that night were an isolated case.

Yup, and they couldn't sing very well either, like two drowning cats!As far as TL goes though, I dont think we could have been at a better site. The shenanagens that went on that night were an isolated case.

Op, over the years, i have aquired some skills. If they replace their pump, i will forget about them. But if they do not, i will remember them. And i will use these skills to Find them. Then i will build an effigy of a cat, put their security light on, and hammer frozen sausages into their lawn.
It is the only way.

Shame there seems to be an ever increasing number of s
ts at Le Mans.
I remember in 2010 or 2011, I lent my Halfords Pro toolkit and jack to a chap in a TVR who had wiring problems with his lights on Houx. He was very greatfull and returned the lot all intact that evening.
Wish everyone could be more like that. Hope you get it sorted OP. Sucks when you do someone a favour like that and then they f
k up the stuff and you have to replace it at your expense

Hang on a minute. They 'broke' it and you're returning it as faulty? Either it was faulty and you have no beef with them or they broke it and you can't just return it? Or have I misunderstood something?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's not on to just return something broken without even mentioning it never mind offering to pay for it; but if you're going to 'stiff' the retailer then that's not much better?

It's going back to Amazon under their no quibble guarantee. The simple facts are that it was working when I lent it to him and now it's not, something internal has stopped working, it's not that it's in a dozen pieces or anything, so you could argue that in fact he didn't break it and that it coincidentally stopped working whilst he was using it.Don't get me wrong, I think it's not on to just return something broken without even mentioning it never mind offering to pay for it; but if you're going to 'stiff' the retailer then that's not much better?
Either way it's stopped working and it's under warranty so it will go back to Amazon.

I can understand you feeling like that but just because one idiot has disrespected your kindness doesn't mean most will... in my experience 99% of people you encounter in life are decent, honest etc. Don't let the rogue actions of the minority put you off in the future.Boshly said:

How is the retailer getting 'stiffed'? The pump no longer works and is under guarantee. The manufacturer and retailer both have margin built into their prices to accommodate such a thing. I can only assume you're a retailer yourself or perhaps a misguided do-gooder to have such an opinion. Thanks guys, I realise that there are plenty of decent people out there who like myself take care in what we borrow. Given their behaviour over the weekend I'm not surprised it was returned damaged without an apology or similar, if only I had known that beforehand I would most definitely not spoken up when he asked if anyone had one!
Anyways, Amazon have dispatched a new one under warranty.

We were in the ACO site - I had put up a little poster on our tent with a pix of Dan Wheldon saying 'remember' 'rip' - on friday a german comes over and hands me a cheap pair of paper sunglasses - like the ones for 3d that has come with magazines etc - they were handed out to all at the recent indy 500 as a memorial to dan... and he thought I might appreciate it... top bloke - it is the thought that counts

Cold beer could and should be payment for most Le Mans related events...
A mini-bus got stuck late at night. Those surviving members of our group helped push it. As they pushed one of the guys said bet you've got loads of people in there. Yes they said! Sadly at that moment they got going, kicked a load of mud over our group and scarpered without so much as a cheers.
